Double drop
The double drop lowers the deck a second time, creating a centre well very close to the ground. This is the trailer for genuinely tall pieces.
Also known as : lowbed, well trailer, double drop deck
Between the front neck and the rear axles, the well offers the maximum clearance available on a standard trailer. A tall piece often travels there without a height permit, where it would require escorts and an approved route on an ordinary deck.
The trade-off: the well is shorter than a flatbed deck. Pieces that are both long and tall require planning we do with you before confirming.
What we load on it
- Tall industrial machinery
- Vessels, silos and tanks
- Transformers and electrical equipment
- Pieces oversized in height

Other trailers
Flatbed 48’ and 53’
The reference trailer for steel, lumber and materials that load from the side or from above.
Step deck
A lower deck that clears pieces too tall for a flatbed, without a height permit.
RGN / lowboy
The front neck detaches and the trailer becomes a ramp: rolling machinery drives on from the front.
